Clandeboye Lodge Wedding
Notes from the Photographer
This was a beautiful summer Clandeboye Lodge wedding with a civil ceremony upstairs in the beautiful Blackwood suite. Cathy and Connor have known each other from school and it was my pleasure to document this latest chapter in their history together. All photography on this wedding was with my two Nikon D3S cameras. Here’s a few of my favourite photographs in addition to the slideshow above.
I love this beautifully natural photograph of Cathy getting some last minute touches to the make-up.
Cathy’s sister had flown in from Norway for the wedding and you could tell how excited she was for her sister and the family.
This was Cathy arriving in for the ceremony. A beautiful summers day in July.
One of my favourite moments from the ceremony.
The Blackwood Suite is such a great intimate space for wedding ceremonies – the space is always a bit of a challenge to photograph in but everyone is always close together and I like that in my photography.
This photograph is one of my favourites of all time. Romantic, intimate, great light.
Downstairs for the post ceremony greetings and congratulations.
I shot this just as some of the guests had been throwing confetti – weddings should have more confetti!
I loved this little guy whose Daddy was throwing him up into the sky – beautifully decked out in his traditional Norwegian costume.
I love this one!
In the wedding album there’s a series of images shot from above through the windows of the Blackwood Suite – a great alternative angle for seeing the reception.
I could see this moment developing from the other side of the room and it’s the perfect moment just when Cathy’s Mum was wiping a tear. I love how Cathy is holding his hand. It’s the small details that really tell you a lot.
This was my favourite image from the dancing in the evening. Such a lovely wedding.
